My re-creation of a Fraggle was a part of my third year dissertation at the Norwich University art of 2023 to 2024. This project aimed to minic mimicry of amateur puppet fabrication methodology and techniques and explore the impact of cultural perceptions on puppet fabrication design choices and the subsequent psychological.

The puppet began with a Monster clay maquette working out textures facial construction details and scaling, the head was cast in plaster of Paris, silicon skin tone experimentation, the face was cost with resin the scalp with silicon and the hair was needlepointed in using animal alpaca fibres.

The armature was constructed with a simple aluminium and Millieput structure, with foam padding acting as muscles, linen and cotton handstitched into the outfit and finally recycled leather gloves turned into shoes with handstitched shoelaces.

This project utilised both the traditional methodologies of arch model studio with the information and guidance provided from an interview with head of the studio Andy Gent a huge thank you to his time he provided and the feedback given. https://www.ams.london/
